Farewell Dinner
Posted by Jonathan Ng | Filed under Personal
So it was my last day at Kone and some of us went for dinner. It was more like a farewell dinner for Sharon, who’s leaving next week, doubling up as farewell dinner for me.

Lesson 1: using wide angle distorts human subjects.
We had steamboat at a place called Shabu Shabu at SS2. I remember the name coz I jokingly said “anything will do, as long as it’s not syabu“. It’s one of those all-you-can-eat steamboat place with different soups (Kim-Chi and something else). If not for the company, wouldn’t have enjoyed dinner at all. Since I don’t really eat seafood, it would cost me RM 20+ to basically eat fish balls, vegetable and some jelly as dessert. Not that bad compared to Jeff, who ate only mee and veggie - and he seems quite happy about it:

Of course, dinner is fun. More so with these people. So apart from makan, we took pics lor.. Read the rest of this entry »

Klo-Ee-Lin - Pt 2
Posted by Jonathan Ng | Filed under Personal
A couple of weeks back, Klo-Ee asked me to join her on a day trip to Melaka on Prophet’s birthday. It was a public holiday, so I thought, what the hell.
To my horror though, Vi King ffk (fly aeroplane in Canto) at the very last minute - leaving me to lamp post Klo-Ee and her boyfriend (who goes by a more normal name of Nicholas, as compared to Klo-Ee) for the whole friggin day.
First stop at Melaka was for breakfast. I had baba laksa, or something like that - basically laksa with a whole lot of coconut milk. The highlight of the day for me was the cendol!! Laced with durian, it’s the ultimate Malaysian dessert!

The Melaka trip was basically a eating + photo-snapping outing. So we just walked around the usual tourist spots around Melaka taking pics. Read the rest of this entry »

My Favourite Photographers on Flickr
Posted by Jonathan Ng | Filed under Personal
There’s more than 2 billion photos on Flickr, some are downright crappy, a lot are the usual family/vacation photos and of course, there are those posted by professionals with gear more expensive than a Kancil. I don’t explore Flickr super actively, but as of now, there are several photographers that I absolutely love.
ç±³æ»ç±³(MSM) and AehoHikaruki
Spectacular portraits, beautiful models :p

Frankly, they’re not my fav simply ’cause the models are pretty, there’s still a lot of technique involved in taking portraits. MSM’s photos tend to be more Photoshop-ed while AehoHikaruki’s tend to more “right out of the camera”. yoccakamada also has some pretty good photos.
mister bokeh, motionid - masters of bokeh
Both great photographers (and damn rich I might add) of bokeh-styled pictures.

Of course, there’s thousands of other great photographers on Flickr, but these 4 stand out due to their styles. Yeap, I love portraiture (more so if it’s female :p) and bokeh-ed out pictures! =)
