Why do I like to compare myself to others? Is this human nature, or is it just my stupidity? I mean, why should I give a shit about what other people wanna do with their lifes, or if they’re doing something stupid? Yeah, so some people have plenty of money to go on Europe tours. Some people won’t think twice before flinging away their parent’s money. Why does the thought of envying them even come to mind?! That’s just stupid! How foolish of me..

Sigh, when do you know when it’s the right time to tell someone they’re not exactly doing the right thing, and when do you just leave them to it? How do you decide that someone is not doing something stupid enough for you to tell them off? Sigh, sometimes one should be considerate to others, sometimes you gotta be selfish and take care of yourself. Just where you draw the fucking line?!

I wonder if it’s how I treat other people, that I rarely feel people around me are really considerate, or perhaps society today is as such: people just take care of themselves..

There’s many painful lessons that I’ve learnt since coming to KL. Many really really painful lessons that have really changed me. Some people think I haven’t changed or learned, while I think they’re the ones who haven’t changed a bit. See? Comparing again. The next thing I really must learn is not to compare myself with other people, just observe the qualities that other people have and emulate such qualities.

I guess life is sometimes like running. Your not competing with others, you’re competing with yourself. You’re your own enemy. A few months? A few years? One day, I’m sure I’ll be totally immune with comparisons to other people and just be contended with who I am.

Have you ever heard something about being a “Victim” or “Responsible”?
I’m not sure but maybe that helps you in this situation :)

By nature, humans yearn for equity and justice. In the workplace, what would you do when you see a colleague putting in much less effort than you, yet draw the same salary? You will seek ways to make the situation more equitable. (Take a look at equity theory.) What would you do when you feel that your employer is exploiting you? You will seek redress for the unjustice. (There’s literature on organizational justice.)

In the field of decision-making, we often think of the homo sapien as always acting rationally, that is, making decisions that maximize his or her utility. However, as can be seen in the “Ultimatum game”, it is recognised that humans often desire justice and will seek to punish those that have treated him or her unfairly and act in ways that defy rational decision-making.
