The European Capital of Cultures 2008

Liverpool is the European Capital of Cultures 2008, and yes, I’m here!! Oh, it was a pretty long journey though. So I got to KLIA around 9.30 pm (KL time) for my 1 am (30 May) flight.

Me, mom, first uncle, dad
Some goodbyes to family and pictures later, I walked pass immigration to wait at the designated gate..

After a long wait, we were finally on board the Boeing 777-300, bound for Dubai.

The flight was 7 hours long, and thankfully the in-flight entertainment was decent. There were plenty of movies and some comedies. Only a snack and breakfast was served, few drinks were offered, making me so damn thirsty.
Touched down at Dubai around 4am for a 4 hour transit.

We managed to leech some wifi to send some regards back home. I emailed some pictures back while Eu Hua called home. The connecting flight to Manchester was also on a Boeing 777-300, but this one was a little older. Worse of all, there wasn’t much on the in-flight entertainment!! Well, luckily I had a book and my mp3 player..

Touched down at Manchester around 1pm and though there was a long queue at immigration, the officer didn’t ask many questions. Those who did full medical checkups and chest x-rays probably regretted it, the officers never asked for it at all! In an hour’s time, we were finally at Liverpool, the European Capital of Culture 2008!!
