4 Months of Hard Work Draws to an End

In the blink of an eye, 4 months of hard work came to an end. The TARC Imagine Day last Wednesday summed up all our hard work, and the success truly belonged to all who have sweated it out for the event. (I’m already 4 days late in blogging bout this, so you might wanna head on to Kok Chiann’s blog for a more detailed overview of what Imagine Day is all about).
This year’s Imagine Day focus was on TARC Imagine Cup - participants of each category (Software Design, Interface Design, Project Hoshimi, Algorithm, Photography, Short Film) displayed their “masterpieces” to the public, and also took turns at presenting their hard work to the judges.
I still remember that day where me and Kok Chiann met up at Woo Tong’s house, to plot out the rough objectives of the event, and to allocate committee members. I remember Kok Chiann picking me up from the LRT after work at HSBC for yet another core committee discussion. Needless to say, there were endless setbacks - and after maneuvering through these setbacks, success tasted ever more sweeter.

It’s an honour to have worked with each and every one of the committee members, especially the core committees (Kok Chiann, Woo Tong, Glenn, Chong Wen, Huey Chen, Teng Foung and more recently, Enzo) and my marketing team (Sin Yee, Wen Sin, Samuel, Anson aka Handsome, Terrence, Ice and George) - their insights and perseverance has always been a source of inspiration. Not forgetting Poh Lee who was great assistance with the audio/visual stuff on Imagine Day, and Mun Yee and Wai Yee - what else can we talk crap about? :p
And of course, if not for Imagine Day, how would we know that 3 of us shared the same birthday!! What a rare, rare coincidence..

Imagine Day also marks my last event as a Microsoft Student Partner. Together with Kok Chiann and Huey Chen, we have organized events that have raised the bar in terms of reach. The Windows Vista launch had such a broad reach, while Code Camp and Imagine Day deeply reached SAS students. I have learned so much from them and it’s sad that we won’t have the opportunity to work together anymore. Kok Chiann is always bubbling with ideas and is a unique leader who always aims to balance committee morale and event objectives. Dude, I salute you. Huey Chen, sometimes quite, but always calm, responsible and very reliable. She’s also one of the few girls who excel in sports, look beautiful when dressed up and can act cute. To the both of you, thank you for the understanding and patience with me. MSPs ROCK!!

To Enzo and Woo Tong, the upcoming MSPs, all the best to you guys, and Godspeed! Last but not least, thanks to everyone for all the good memories. All of you have definitely made my last year here at TARC a memorable one.
Thank you all for the contributions to TARC Imagine Day. Thank you all for the birthday celebrations. Thank you all for the company. Thank you!
