Waiting for Vista

You see, there are a number of ways for me to get hold of Vista. No, I’m not talking ’bout downloading it through BitTorrent, I’m going legit ;-)
- Dell free upgrade offer. My laptop comes with XP Media Center Edition. This entitles me to a free upgrade to Vista Home Premium. There’s a catch though: RM 95 delivery fee.
- Microsoft Academic Alliance. Get a copy from college!
- MSDN Premium Subscription. My “boss” says MSPs will get MSDN premium subscription. But, he added that MSPs throughout the world have yet to receive it.
I’ll probably try to get my copy through college, but I’m not sure if I have to haul my laptop there for installation. Not that it’s a hell lot of trouble, but I’d have to sit there and wait. I’ll also be buying taking Dell’s free upgrade offer. Heck, it’s just RM 95!
Point is, I can’t get Vista now! Arghh.. what a pain.. to complicate things, I’m going back Ipoh on Feb 12, so I have to get Vista and whatever other apps installed before I go home.. sigh, hope I can get my hands on Vista soon..

January 22nd, 2007 at 10:02 pmYes. TARC (and many other institutions) have an agreement with Microsoft where development tools (Ms Windows, SQL Server, Visual Studio) are available. No Office though :p
Anyway, there’ll be a big, big Vista/Office 07 campus launch later in March. You can get the Vista DVD with serial number in a nice packaging, for a very small fee..
