What’s There to Blog About?

I really admire some people. They can just blog on and on and on, even multiple posts per day, mostly ’bout nothing at all. For me, I don’t follow many blogs. I just don’t have the habit of being interested in other people’s life. I do check out Kenny Sia’s blog occasionally, as it’s plain humour.

My friend Jeffrey is one avid blogger. He keeps to at least one post a day, sometimes multiple. Sadly, I don’t really understand much of what he’s blogging about. He’s even considering “moblogging” - mobile blogging. Nuts.. next time you see his posts, they might be from him stuck in a traffic jam, in the LRT, while doing business in the loo, while watching a lame movie at the cinema.. got so much to blog about meh?

I would suggest that he blog in both Chinese and English. AdSense doesn’t seem to be serving any “sensible” ads in Chinese. For the kind of traffic he gets, he should be making much more money. Jeff, bloging in English will:

  • Of course, imporve your English. I doubt it’s easy translating a post in Mandarin to English.
  • Make it easier for me to learn Mandarin
  • Widen your audience
  • and hence, make decent money
  • And hey, your posts might become hilarious too.. some “direct translation” from Mandarin will be funny.. remember Phua Chu Kang? That was Singlesh though, but close enough :p

Forget ’bout podcasting.. you’ll go broke paying for the hosting in no time.. hope to see you blogging in English ;-) with the way you actively market your blog (to Chinese aggregators), do the same for the English version.. I bet visitors will loathe your sidebar.. LoL.. it’ll take forever to load!

    ooo… blogging in english, i doubt if anyone is able to understand my “english”….
    so far i have only seen one blogger blogging in both languages (chinese and english, most of the time) —- http://brightnesswindow.blogspot.com/index.html

    blogging in both languages will be a big trouble for me to translate the whole piece of story that consists hundreds of characters (in mandarin), maybe i will just do like frankie — posting a summary in english gua~

    about the moblog~ dunno, as long as i have my handphone wif me then i can do moblog, who knows what im going to post in the future?

    p/s : i thought ur girlfriend can un mandarin one? ask her to translate lar, hahahaha…
